Mrs. Matus is a proud graduate of Centennial High School, where she was a four year member of the Centennial Sparklers Drill Team. While on the team, she served as the roles of line member, social officer, lieutenant, and captain. Mrs. Matus completed her bachelors degree in December 2019 from the University of North Texas in Denton.
Mrs. Matus is so excited to be living her dream of teaching dance and drill at Centennial High School!
Because her love for teaching dance goes beyond simply mastering technical skills, she strives to build students’ confidence in the classroom. Mrs. Matus plans to keep the legacy set forth by Ms. Ellison, Sparklers charter director, blooming through the dance studio.
Mrs. Morrow, assistant director, grew up in ETX where she enjoyed the full drill team experience as line member, social officer, and 1st Lieutenant. She then made her way to Texas A&M University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.
Since 2013, Mrs. Morrow has taught in Burleson at Kerr Middle School. Not only has she taught the dance class since it began at Kerr, but she has started and built a dance program in which she directs the middle school dance team called The Sapphires. Though just starting out, Mrs. Morrow and The Kerr Sapphires have shown tremendous success at their competitions and performances.
Mrs. Morrow’s favorite part of being a director in Burleson ISD is seeing the growth in dancers from middle school on up through high school.
